The secrets of the Evil Eye

Historically man has had the need to believe that in life there is a good side and a bad side, a light-filled and forth in darkness, for that reason have the need to believe in a higher being who cares and frees him from all evil and all danger and put their faith in objects and items that called " sacred " to guarantee their protection.

The theme of witchcraft, charm and evil have always had space in the historical development of man and somehow has affected historical and cultural aspects of life. For example, as the "Treaty of fascination or the evil eye” from Enrique Aragon , Marquis of Villena , the fascination comes from the spirit of the sorcerer and goes to the eyes of one who is haunted by logging into your heart. It was so to avoid such enchantment, it was necessary to have an amulet for protection or to get away from evil.

Different cultures around the world have protective elements Trust your faith and being. In Turkey for example, “Nazar” or the "evil eye” more than a charm, has become one more piece of the culture of this country. The roots of the existence of the Evil Eye come to Babylon and ancient Egypt. It is also observed between the Sumerians and Hittites. According to them, the bad feelings that are within man come out through the eyes.

The eyes are the most expressive and clear part of the body. Today modern parapsychological studies have shown that this is indeed the case and that if the Evil Eye. To avoid or reflect this evil power, our ancestors used against something, so they started putting a bead -shaped eye. Some sources even say that the origin of blue eye is due to the invasion of the North. The Norse had blue eyes and the peoples of Anatolia thought they threw them Evil Eye and created to counteract the blue eye.

But this belief in this country is stronger than people can imagine. The “Nazar " is represented by a blue eye that is always available at the main entrance of homes and businesses to deliver the bad energies. But not only used in houses, here in Turkey you can find Nazar in the gift bags , the accessories for women, clothing , on the facades of the houses, welcome mats stores, in crockery, everywhere you look you find with an "eye" .

Although I cannot say that in my country there are no beliefs how like here, on the contrary, in Colombia also believe in the evil eye and other enchantments product of bad energy, the difference is that in our culture the Blue Eye (Nazar) is not common, in fact, we have not referenced in the replacement, we have the " azabache " a black stone to which is attributed the power to keep away evil who carry it. However, this is commonly used to protect babies in their first years of life.

It is clear that although there are fairly obvious cultural differences between my country and Turkey, but they have something in common: spirituality, and I know that not only happens between these two countries, of course not, because human beings life is full of beliefs, of moments, of elements that somehow enrich our existence. Meanwhile and as I return to Colombia, I will take a Nazar to avoid any kind of disturbance with which I can find.
